How long does OnlyFans verification take for new creators
Published October 19, 2026. Creator verification on OnlyFans is often quick, but a rejected photo can stretch it to days. Here is what decides the timing and how to avoid the usual delays.
The short answer
For many creators the review is done within a day or two of submitting a clear ID and selfie. It can take longer at busy times, when details don't match or when the photos need to be retaken. There is no fixed promise, so plan your launch with a few days of buffer.
Why verification exists at all
Adult platforms have to confirm that every creator is an adult and the person on the account. Checking a real document against a real face does that, and it also protects creators from impersonators. A careful review is a good sign, not an obstacle.
What you submit
- A government photo ID, valid and not expired
- A selfie, usually holding the same ID next to your face
- Personal details that match the document exactly
- Payout information, and tax details where they apply
Fill in everything in one go. A half finished profile often waits longer than a complete one.
Prepare your documents the evening before
Most delays start with a rushed photo taken on a phone in a dim room. Ten minutes of preparation saves days of back and forth.
1. Find your passport or licence and check the expiry date.
2. Clean your phone camera lens.
3. Pick a spot by a window with soft daylight and a plain dark surface for the document.
4. Write down your name exactly as it appears on the ID.
5. Have your payout details ready so you don't stop halfway through the form.
The most common reasons for delay
Blurry or cropped ID photos
All four corners must be visible, the text sharp and without glare. Shoot in daylight on a flat, dark surface.
Selfie that doesn't match
Your face and the ID both need to be clear in the same frame. Remove sunglasses and hats and avoid heavy filters.
Mismatched details
The name and date of birth on your account must match the document letter for letter. Check spelling and middle names.
Expired documents
An ID that expired yesterday is still expired. Use a current passport or licence.
A checklist before you press submit
- Document is valid and the photo shows all four corners
- No glare, shadows or fingers over the text
- Selfie in good light, face and ID both readable
- Account name and date of birth match the ID
- Payout details filled in
If your application is rejected
A rejection is usually about the photos or the details, not about you. Read the reason carefully, fix only that point and submit again with fresh photos rather than the same files. Resubmitting the same blurry picture several times in a row tends to slow things down further. If the reason is unclear, contact the platform's support with your account email and ask which part needs to change.
After approval
Once you are approved, you can set your price, upload content and share your link. This is also the moment to plan where fans will find you, because OnlyFans won't do that for you. Our article on getting seen with a new OnlyFans page covers the first months.
Verification on FansSeeker
OnlyFans does not share its checks with other sites. If you list on FansSeeker, you complete our own short check: an ID scan, a liveness selfie and a one time code in your OnlyFans bio to prove the page is yours. It takes a few minutes of your time, and nothing from it is ever shown to fans. Full details are in our OnlyFans creator verification guide.
Verification data is used only to confirm age, identity and page ownership, and document images are deleted after the check unless the law requires us to keep a record. You can read the full rules on our trust and safety page, and see each step from card to live listing in how it works.
